Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lookup?

Lookup is an AI interview and meeting copilot. During a live session it can listen to the conversation (including audio you choose to share from a meeting), transcribe speech, research the company and role, and surface suggested talking points and answers while you speak. It is designed to help you prepare for and participate in professional conversations—not to replace your judgment.

What happens when I start a live session?

When you start or join a session, Lookup processes session audio and related data to provide transcription, context analysis, and AI-assisted responses. Depending on your settings, this may include storing audio recordings and transcripts tied to your account so you can review the session later. Usage may consume session minutes as shown in the product.

Does Lookup record my voice?

Yes, when you use live session features Lookup may capture and process microphone audio, and—if you enable it—audio from a shared meeting or system source. Audio may be transcribed and stored for the Service (for example, to generate transcripts and AI suggestions). You choose when to start a session; starting a session is your request that we process audio for that conversation.

Does Lookup record my screen?

If you initiate screen or tab sharing in your browser or app, content visible in that share may be processed while sharing is active. This can include meeting interfaces, slides, or documents on screen. We process shared content only to operate the Service (for example, transcription and context for AI assistance). Stop sharing when you no longer want that content processed.

Do I need permission from people I'm talking to?

Often, yes. Recording and transcription laws vary by location. Some places require everyone in the conversation to consent; others allow one party to consent. If your session involves other people (an interviewer, colleague, or meeting participant), you are responsible for giving any required notice and getting any required permission before using Lookup to record or transcribe. Lookup does not provide legal advice. If you cannot obtain required permissions, do not use recording features for that conversation.

How does the AI assistant work?

Lookup sends session context—such as transcripts, your materials, and research requests—to AI systems that generate suggestions, summaries, and answers. Outputs appear in the product for you to read and use. AI responses are automated and may be wrong or incomplete; you should review them before relying on them in a live conversation.

Can I trust the AI answers Lookup shows me?

Treat AI output as a draft assistant, not a guarantee. Lookup does not warrant that suggestions are accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation. You remain responsible for what you say in an interview or meeting. The Service does not guarantee any hiring, interview, or employment outcome.

What personal data does Lookup store?

We store account information (such as your email), content you upload (for example resumes), session transcripts and AI outputs, and—depending on features used—session audio recordings. We also keep technical logs needed to secure and operate the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Who can see my sessions?

Your session content is accessible to you through your account and to Lookup systems and service providers that process data on our behalf to deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal information. Do not share login credentials; you are responsible for access to your account.

Is my data used to train public AI models?

No. We do not use your session content to train public or general-purpose AI models. We configure AI providers to process your content to deliver the Service. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve reliability and performance.

How does billing work?

Lookup meters live usage in session minutes (or equivalent credits shown in the product). You may receive promotional minutes at signup; additional minutes can be purchased according to in-product pricing. Active sessions typically consume minutes over time. Billing details and packages are shown before you purchase.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request account deletion from your account settings. Deletion follows our published process, including a short period during which you can cancel the request and a later window during which you may be able to recover a deleted account. After that process, personal data is put beyond use and removed from active systems, subject to legal and backup retention limits described in our Privacy Policy.

I accepted the Terms at signup—what does that mean?

Creating an account requires you to read and accept our Terms of Service. Your acceptance confirms that you agree to the rules in those Terms—including your responsibility for lawful use of recording and transcription features and your acknowledgment that session audio and related data may be processed when you start a session. We store the time of your acceptance.
